Nintendo launched its $69.99 Super Mario Galaxy double pack for the Switch (complete with a free Switch 2 update) in October, but you can get the cartridge containing both games for $55.20 — the lowest price yet — at Woot through Black Friday. The only caveat is that you need to check out using Woot’s mobile app on Android or iOS. Whether you’re gaming on an original Switch or the new Switch 2, these games feature enhanced resolution, improved user interfaces, and more content. The games look much, much better than they do on the sub-HD Wii. Unsurprisingly, both games run and look better on Nintendo’s newer, more powerful hardware (Digital Foundry surmises based on its own research that they run at a full 3,840 x 2,160 resolution on the Switch 2, but with no anti-aliasing).
Our reviewer wanted more than what these improved, yet very straightforward ports offer, but they set up both new and returning players to get excited for the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy movie coming next year.
